Adventuring is Magic: Maud Pie
Maud Pie is a Geomancer. Though Earth-Ponies are incapable of channeling mana into practical magic unaided, Maud relies on an artifact called “The Mantle of Geomancy”, a should girdle that instills the wearer with power over earth and stone. The Mantle is a family heirloom, and it’s possible it only works for members of the Pie bloodline.

Though not inclined to fighting, Maud is very capable of protecting herself in danger, and a known to be a fierce avenger against any threat posed to her family.

I always knew I wanted to make Maud a Geomancer, but I realized I had written myself into a corner when I asserted that only unicorns can cast magic intuitively. Everyone else has to find some other method, and this was the best I could do for Maud. I hope it works. XD
