I debated a lot about putting this one up because it's kind of veeerry spoilery for the Wheelverse, but I had actual success in using coloured lineart for once and I'm too proud of it to just sit on it for however long it takes to get to this. Heh. It'll be post-Royal Wedding in relation to canon-time, so at least about 25 or so years after the first story?

So yes, this is Chrysalis. Or rather, who she was before she became Chrysalis. The Queen of the Changelings in the Wheelverse underwent a similar experience to Luna's transformation into Nightmare Moon, although she had vastly different reasons and wasn't locked away for it.
She Fell around the time that the Aspects of Life, Creation and Earth decided to experiment with the evolution of mortal creatures and started to get more and more sapient beings. I won't go into why she Fell, or what she was in her uncorrupted state, because I want at least some things to be a surprise, haha. But she's been around as Chrysalis for a long time, long enough for her features to have warped far further than Luna's ever did as the Nightmare. Twisty horn, lacking a cutie-mark, developing an exoskeleton and being covered in holes and tatters etc.

It was fun trying to figure out what Chrysalis would look like as a 'normal' alicorn. Her colours are lighter, brighter, her mane and tail are softer and wavier, and of course her wings and horn are normal looking. She is slightly shorter than Celestia, but taller than Luna. Her appaloosa markings were inspired by both all the holes in her features and by those spots on her neck. It just seemed to click.
