So, I might have watched the leak of the latest EQG movie. >.> So I guess this is kinda spoilery but I'm not really gonna talk much about what actually happened in the film.

I love Gaia Everfree's actual form, it's creepy and beautiful and ethereal and terrifying. Excellent. Perfect.

Oh, and the villain song? Probably my favourite villain song of anything pony related so far. I've had it on repeat all afternoon Sorry, This Day Aria and Say Goodbye to the Holiday, you've been overtaken. The line I quoted in the title is my favourite, I get chills.
So this is my own take on a ponified version of Gaia.

She definitely fits into the Wheelverse, and I'm quite happy to slot her in immediately. I see her as one of the 'major Minors' — the Aspect of Forests, one of the first ponies to ever ascend from a mortal, if not the first. By first, I mean her grandparents were probably among the very first herd created by Terra.
She would have been an earth pony (probably pre-dating the pegasi and unicorns), and falls under the Wheel of Energies under Earth Magic.

But she was the second Aspect to Fall into an Evil, like Luna would one day do, becoming Nightmare Moon. I'm thinking Power got her, she wanted to be stronger and stronger to protect all of the forests or something and went overboard.

Her true name in the Wheelverse would probably be something like Sylpha or Dryada but I can't see her being redeemed or really touched upon at all in any of the planned stories. Maybe a side-story or something because I really do love her.

Gaia comes with a free Horse Marking all by herself — she's clearly got the bald face/head marking. Neat, no brain-wracking required. I'd go so far as to say she probably had pink appaloosa spots before she ascended and they crystallised. Oh no, now I'm scheming out how her non-corrupted and pre-ascension forms looked. That might come to nothing but I might end up with more of her.
