“Alchemy, please pay attention, this is very important for you to know as you ascend into adulthood." Said the purple alicorn mare, fidgeting with her hair nervously. She had had this talk with her child so many times before, this was just another run through. "As you know, you have a very special condition, and it means that you must be careful when attempting to do things that are normally performed using magic."
Alchemy rolled her eyes so far they almost rolled into the back of her head, but she didnt allow her mother to see. She simply smiled and nodded, opening and closing her mouth as she attempted to speak. "Mom, I have hooves! You don't act this way around Aunt pinkie. Or around Flaming Dawn, and he sets things on fire!"
"I know, I know, but Pinkie isn't my daughter, she's an adult mare. As for your brother, he get's small lectures too, they just aren't about the same things." Twilight exclaimed, nervously smiling at Alchemy.
Alchemy looked down at her hooves and held them together nervously, a somber smile on her face as she no longer tried to keep herself together that well. "Does that mean I'm not ever going to be like you? A princess of magic? I-I can do a little magic though you know? In the kitchen and with my quilts and herbs and things like-" Before she could finish her sentence her mother interrupted her once again in her usual "Twilighting" manner.
"B-But what if you were to set the kitchen on fire!" Twilight shouted out, quickly covering her mouth. "… What if you get in a dangerous situation? We have to be prepared for these things dear." The princess of friendship looked away for a moment. "It's probably best that we work on the things you can do, rather than the things you wish you could do."
"Yes mother…I understand." The smaller purple unicorn, who shouldn't be much a unicorn at all, decided to just give in. Give in like always.
