Twilight Sparkle was just chilling in their castle when Susnet Shimmer ran out through the portal and asked them for help.
Apperantley, Scorpan had managed to find out about the human world and planted a Schlembujah aka "Mind-Control-Plant" in there. While there have been rumors that someone is running back and forth between the Worlds in an attempt to spread information between them. Twilight became quite worried about this out of fear that threats from Equestria could come over to that world and vice-versa. So she dropped the book she was reading and decided along with Spike to help Sunset.

Because I had prior knowledge about the Schlembujah's, Twilight also asked me to join them on the mission to discover and destroy it. I agreed to help, after hearing from Suger Belle, a former employer of "Scorpan enterprizes", about the "culprit" that has been running between the worlds. So the four of us entered the portal and ended up in the human world, in the middle of the night (night in that world). As you could have guessed, I was shocked to see that Spike and the Girls had transformed into a dog and humans respectivly. But perhaps not as shocked as they were when I stayed as a pony in that world.

Twilight: Smash? Why are you still a pony?
Smash: Huh? Is it a problem?
Twilight: Erhm… Not really, I was just surprised that you didn't transform.
Smash: Well, I don't mind. flirty wink
Twilight: Smash, please stop it. It's embarrassing.
Smash: Transformed or not, I still find you to be quite the beauty. But I must say that your sense of fashion is odd. Sparkly, but odd!
Sunset: GUYS! Remember why we are here.
Twilight: Yes, Sunset. Do you know where the others are?
Sunset: We'll have to find a place to sleep. Because I forgot about the time-diference between the worlds, we have to wait till tomorrow before we start searching for them.
Twilight: Yes of course, I am quite tired myself. Let's go!
