For a pony who's born and grown working her hooves, there's no rhyme or reason to rest when there's chores to be done, even when the doctor has orders for her to get some bedrest. And it's right about time to plant those apple sprouts.

Out of the main six, Applejack is my favorite! She's a dedicated hard working pony who's all about her family, and I really relate to her workaholic independent nature. And while I was sitting around thinking, it hit me like a kick to the heart — Applejack is gonna get old. Her bones will get too weary to kick apples out of a tree and take the fresh harvest to town, she'll hit a point all she can do is slowly make her way to point A and B carrying her own tired weight. So, I really wanted to express those feels I get when I think about it. Old Applejack gazing down at her work, the little work she can do, and reminiscing about old days.

That little apple sprout is the sum of her.
