Parcly Taxel: For breakfast the next day I had a scrambled egg sandwich with instant noodles. I was sitting only around ten hands away from ten other ponies, all of whom were oblivious to my status as an alicorn; Hong Kong has the highest population density among all the world's cities, sometimes forcing complete strangers together and always encouraging a somewhat rushed approach to life that leaves little time for diversions.
Spindle: Thus we headed to the streets of Sham Shui Po, the merchant complex of Kowloon. Row upon row, stall upon stall, the list of items offered never seemed to cease: dresses, saddlebags, flowers, cutlery, even gadgets normally associated with the higher-end stores on Hong Kong Island. Much like the bazaar Parcly went through the first time she visited Saddle Arabia.
Rarity: [faints]
Spindle: Huh?
Rarity: Those products not only were horrible, they sounded horrible! Truly you must feel your heart if you want to inspire a crowd. Parcly, were there any less devastating places you went?
Parcly: Langham Place in Mong Kok. Decent products there, but I needed none of it — only a place for stretching my wings and padding my hooves. Well, except for a seafood rice burger.
When I left the shopping centre, I felt the structures around me warping, as if suggesting I change direction. I did, and they replied with more conviction; all my movements became premediated by this urban geography. Corridors grew longer, time slowed, all matter of detail faded out of sight. Then I saw Luna waiting at a sashimi shop and all was clear again…
Luna: I pulled her strings that way to demonstrate how dizzyingly beautiful this city has become. Indeed, the uninitiated often find themselves entranced by the dense interlock of streets and ponies, similar to Parcly's experience.
The shop was a trot away from Times Square at Causeway Bay, a happening point for Hong Kong fashion. We had dinner there, Parcly choosing tuna rice while I went for eel, before I teleported away with a wink and a smile.
Parcly: Incidentally, night had arrived above the cloudtops and skyscrapers. Normally this would have empowered me to press further into darkness, but my hooves were aching from my time-dilated wandering across the city, so I had a dessert of walnut syrup before dashing back to hug my bed with all four hooves.
