Candlelight is Twilight Sparkle's grandmother from her father's side. When she was a teenager, she realized that she loved telling and writing stories for little foals, and got her cutie mark. Knowing that, she studied hard and raised enogh money to open her own library in Canterlot. One day, a astrologer went to her library to look for books. Adventurous and charismatic, she fell in love with him. Later, they would have a little colt, Night Light.
