Rainbow grumbled under her breath as she lay on the ground in a small cyan colored heap, aching slightly from the less than graceful landing, ears burning in embarrassment at the thought of anyone let alone the WonderBolts Captain having seen her fail (for maybe the fifteenth time) at managing to stick the landing on that new move.
SpitFire had been trying for hours now to instruct her how to do this small tid-bit of the new Routine, and it was coming easy for her- at all. Rainbow was fast, she was a pretty capable flier- but this move needed control, and a delicate wing, both of which Rainbow considerably lacked. It was really starting to piss her off that she was having this much damned trouble with it at all,
Rainbow winced slightly, feeling a small bruise forming on her cheek where it had connected with the sandy ground underneath inside one of the enclosed training areas of the WonderBolts Academy. One of several she was sure to have by the end of the day, she sighed at the thought.
"You alright, Dash?"
Rainbow's body went rigid, suddenly feeling shadow cast over her outstretched form as SpitFire stradled her, the mare's golden wings wrapping about her person- closing off the outside world in a sudden dim shine of fiery yellow. SpitFire's head lowered, her forehead millimeters apart from Rainbow's own as her orange and yellow mane mixed with Dash's rainbow colored one lightly, she could feel her face start to heat up as her ears fell back, eyes wide and fixed to the amber gaze of the WonderBolts Captain- completely riveted. They were so close, she could feel SpitFire's breath brush against her muzzle softly, feel her tail brush against her hind legs and wing lightly, sending a shiver through her body in a sudden wave of pleasure at the touch.
For a moment it seemed all the world fell away from them, as the Training Grounds gave way to nothing but distant shores of pail color, and nothing but bliss and captivation for what felt like years, their eyes never separating, remaining in their locked hold, Rainbow couldn't find words- her mouth left slightly agape, heart thumping in her chest so hard she was sure SpitFire could hear it, being as close as she was.
A thin smile pulled at the Captain's lips, amusement glinting in her amber eyes as she chuckled slightly, moving her muzzle closer to lightly rub it against Rainbow's forehead, who went rigid as her face burned hotter.
"You're really cute when you blush like that, Crash. I think we'll call it a day, and pick up tomorrow, hmm?"
