Clover keeps her eyes cracked for Shanty's story, as she begins to explain her life.

"She could dance all day and all night, making all of the stallions want her. They gave her money, they gave her clothing. They gave her everything a mare could ever want. She was very happy. But not happy enough. That pretty mare had everything, but she didn't have one thing; love. No matter how many stallions she saw to bed, or how many bits she made, she couldn't find one pony who liked her. She wasn't ladylike. She didn't even have a friend to talk to."

Clover stirs a little, the lewd stuff below making her uncomfortable. She uses a hoof to wipe it up through the blanket.

"Thanks for getting it on my blanket!" The mare joked, before coughing and continuing.

"One day, she couldn't take it anymore. The constant cat calls. The spanks on the flank, the bits tossed on stage. So she left the stage life, taking to the skies and flying far from her home in Whitherwater. She didn't bring a bit with her. She didn't want to. She didn't need money; she needed happiness. That very same mare was reckless, and crashed during a bad thunderstorm… to be found by a wonderful stallion. His name is Silverwind. Silverwind helped her, healed her. He didn't ask for anything from her. So she joined him, and when he got a hold of a ship, stayed with him."

She smiles, Clover's head nodding forward as the filly closes her eyes.

"Together, they knew very little about sailing. But Timbers, who helped Silverwind with repairing the boat, did. And with a little persuasion on the mare's part, she promised to stay."

Shanty cups Clover's head in her hoof, kissing her head before standing up, and turning away.

"Good night, little foal. Sweet dreams."
