Anansi's family situation is a bit strange to say the least. He knows he has a father but has never met him. He's found the 'gifts' he's left for his mother but never him. Zecora assures him that his father loves him but just has issues keeping him from interacting with his son. Anansi doesn't believe her. Nor does he believe her when she says he can't be seen because other ponies would panic. He knows she fears his powers influence on others. She shouldn't be though. What happened to Ms Applebloom was an accident.

Note: You might no have noticed but Zecora is pregnant here. Discord came to 'drop off another gift'. She has yet to tell her darling cub that he will soon be a big brother. She worries he might not take it well.
