Artist's notes:
I cannot believe I haven't drawn Windy Belle since last year. Such blasphemy! Sketched this drawing of her last night and I liked out it turned out, so I decided to use some of my free time to color it.
So here's the first look (probably, I don't keep track of my past art as much as I should) on Windy during her teenage years.
As Windy entered her teen years she started rebelling against her mom, Rainbow Dash, because of the pressure she was inflicting on her to be a flawless and fast flier like herself. Rainbow saw her potential for flight being wasted on the weather patrol. While Windy disagreed and tried to explain that it wasn't in her plans to be a "big shot" like her, Rainbow enforced daily regimes and intense training against her free will.
Windy could've asked for Fluttershy's help but she knew how brash and hothead Rainbow could be. The last thing she wanted as to be responsible for a bad argument between her parents, so she hid the way she felt from her mother. Even when Fluttershy asked if she was feeling well about these trainings she'd fake a smile and say she was fine.
As this anger towards her mom's decisions over her future kept growing, it heavily affected Windy's common sense in some situations. Being the most affected the pranks she pulled on others. None of her pranks have ever harmed anyone in some way but it slowly started to show signs of such. She didn't realize that until the aftermath of a prank she pulled out on her best friend, Starchaser, which went overboard. Her prank tampered with an important project Star was working on for months and accidentally destroyed it. Windy only realized her mistake when her friend cut her hair very short as a payback.
With her mother issues still to be resolved she also engaged more in fights with her old bully, Sour Lemon, who was more than pleased to beat her up. But none of them would come out winning except with a couple of bruises and broken noses.
This troubled phase didn't come to an halt until a dangerous situation with her little sister occurred.
She accompanied Harmony in a small trip into the woods to plant some flowers she took care of. They stop by a ravine with unstable ground, which Windy could've easily noticed if she wasn't feeling sorry for herself.
Harmony planted the flowers unaware of any danger while Windy just laid back on the grass. Shortly after that the wind started to blow harder, which caused some small rocks to roll down the ravine, and as they did the ground sustaining some boulders gave in, causing a pair of boulders to roll down. Harmony yelled in panic and Windy jumped at her sister's distress. And as she saw the boulders heading towards Harmony she didn't waste time to push her sister out of the way and getting crushed by the rocks.
Thankfully only one of them had hit Windy, and it was over her right arm and shoulder. She tried to get up and roll it but unsuccessful even with Harmony's help.
She told her sister to get help before it got dark, and even when Harmony refused she reluctantly yelled in a tone she had never used on her sister to go back for help.
Windy was alone in the woods for almost 3 hours and it gave her a lot of time to think as she tried to repress the pain she felt on her arm.
She thought about all the stupid things she's done since her rebellion against Rainbow's regimes. How it affected her common sense and all those around her. And as the hours flew by she pictured what could've happened if she had been completely crushed right there. The mark she would've left there in her short life to those who knew her, specially her family. It twisted her stomach just of imagining that the last moment she had with her mom was a discussion.
When Harmony returned with her parents and some other people to help remove the rock Windy was so relief for the first time in two years.
And after that day she slowly returned to her old kind and loyal self. Took a few months but after so many struggles, patience and Fluttershy's help, Windy finally was free of the intense regimes Rainbow had enforced on her and was able to follow her good old slow pace again.
Welp, that was a lot more info than I had planned to write…. '''8D
