Our pen and paper rpg group had quite a few adventures in Vanhoover. Among other our group got into a rather blundered and unintended brawl with our characters' adversaries in a warehouse. Pursuing Woodwinger through a fierce storm over the nightly ocean, my character Leafhelm pretty much deliberately allowed himself to fall, hoping that this would get him a chance to have a word with Woodwinger (whom Leafhelm trusted would not just allow for him to die after Leafhelm had saved his life before). As a result of the aforementioned brawl our group also ended up, adopting one of our adversaries whom they had left behind, a young unicorn named Shockfire (whom our then game master wanted to play later on) without any of us (including herself) being aware that she was the sister of Liar / Limet and that trying to find out about her backstory would make up for a lot of our adventures yet to come (our group is still working on that one).
Our group finally set out to the place where the rather dramatic showdown of our first adventure would take place. A supposedly abandoned old watchtower in the west of Equestria had been restored as a base (and possibly headquarters) by the organisation of our antagonists and their elusive master. The above map shows the place as my mapmaker character would probably name it. It can also be seen in the background of our group picture. The whole place had an air of Isengard from the Lord of the Ring about it. Rusty red wastewaters from the mines, furnaces and forgeries of the place had spoiled the nearby river and most of the trees in the vicinty were dead while a sinister cloud of smog hung over the place. We dubbed it "Finstersims" which roughly translates to "Dark Ledge" but with the German word "Finster" having a more ominous air about it than the English word dark does. We met the master of the organization of our antagonists there. A very powerful and sneaky being who used to be known as Revus and was a unicorn cousin of Celestia and Luna (that bit of information was not laid open to us but something we found out probably against his interests) but who had apparently fallen to a sinister magic we are still trying to figure out while this nemesis of ours (who now styled himself as Darcuse) is still on the loose and posing a danger to Equestria as a whole. We did manage to thwart Darcuse's plans at that tower (and probably saved Canterlot from a really devastating dark magic attack), but it was not an untarnished triumph (Liar / Limet was left in a kind of magic coma and it is one of our groups major quests now to try to find a cure for her state).
