Name: Sparkling Alchemy
Nickname: Doc
Species: Unicorn
Sex: Mare
Age: 4 months older than Autumn
Talent: Chemical mixture and experimentation
Doc is one of the smartest pony's you'll come across. An expert in alchemy, she loves to experiment, trying to create new potions and brews with various materials she gets her hooves on. She usually tests these potions on her friend Autumn Science who gives great feedback that leads to improving her potions.
She garnered the nickname "Doc" in school as she was the know-it-all, being able to answer any question without fail. The nickname has stuck with her through her life. She applied to Celestia's school for gifted unicorns and easily gained entrance. She had great success, pioneering new areas of research and experimentation into alchemy, so much so that upon graduation she was hired into Canterlot's Science Division for experiments.
Doc has extreme self-confidence issues, typically with her personal image. She has difficulty seeing herself as anything other than fat and ugly. So she makes attempts to hide it with makeup and dieting. She is extremely hesitant to engage in social situations, often preferring to hang back until someone calls on her, for fear of making awkward situations by speaking or creating social faux pas.
Doc is often mistaken for an EarthPony, which only brings down her self-confidence even more. This is due to her unnaturally tiny horn, which is only a third the size of a normal horn for unicorns her size. The horn barely pokes through her hair at best, often times being covered all together.
Doc is best childhood friends with Autumn Science, who is herself an intelligent mare yet the exact opposite of Doc socially. Doc's family took Autumn in and raised her after her mother abandoned her. Doc sees Autumn as a sister though their changing relationship together has skewed her thinking. Autumn is the first to alleviate Doc's fears over her self-image, and quick to help her through social situations. The two were childhood lovers until Doc decided that she could never see Autumn as a true lover and bumped their relationship down to a strong friends with really good benefits status.
