While I did have character reference sheets for all the other characters I drew on the place in front of the forum in Ludwigsburg (to check out details such as "how many lighter streaks are there in the mane of Apple Bloom?" and the like) I got to admit I didn't have Black Griph0n on any of these reference sheets. However, the print I purchased and got signed at the stall of the Creber family and Gabriel Brown alias Black Gryph0n worked fine as a reference. I'm happy with how he turned out, though there are actually quite a few points of constructive criticism that I need to give myself here and keep in mind for whenever I may draw Black Gryph0n again:
The tail ought to be a bit longer, the wrist of the raised front paw is too thin, the hind-paws ought to be a bit longer and less "chubby", the ears shouldn't slim down towards the head (I gave the gryphon pony ears), there probably ought to be another little blue mark detached from the blue chestfluff on the neck (though I can make the excuse that the reference I had showed Black Gryph0n from the left side, so there might be no such second detached blue mark on his right side, the tip of Black Gryph0n's beak ought to be black and there ought to be some darker lines on the lighter part of the wings.Black Gryph0n was the only full body chalk drawing of a character (rather than just a portrait) I made during the Gala, so there was more room for making such mistakes.
This is a color intensified version of the drawing. Here is a photo of the same drawing without the color intensifying camera setting.
Later on the final day of the GalaCon Black Gryph0n did me the honor to sign the drawing. This is the version signed by Black Gryph0n.
And here is a photo of Black Gryph0n and me standing behind the drawing.
I am going to write more on this meeting, which really made my day, in the journal I'm going to write about the final day of the GalaCon 2017.
