Princess Twilight would visit many parallel realities in her time, and meet many alternate versions of herself and her friends. Few were quite as strange as the universe obsessed with parachutes and skydiving. It wasn't dark or violent, relatively… it was just rather silly. She did bond with the local Twilight Sparkle, and they did get the chance to share the sky on this world. That, Twilight thought, was worth the trip.
