Personality/Background:
Granite Rock is the result of a short fling between Zephyr Breeze and Limestone Pie. Zephyr was rather surprised at Granite’s birth, and the newfound responsibility of a child was rather overwhelming for him at first. Eventually, Zephyr Breeze got a handle on childrearing with the assistance of his parents and sister. As a foal, Granite would stay at her father’s house on the weekends and lived with her mom during the week. However, after being enrolled at Rainbow Dash’s Junior Flight Camp, Granite decided that she wanted to stay at her dad’s all the time. Zephyr managed to get full custody of his daughter, and Granite Rock lived with him until she turned 18 and joined the military.

Granite is now enlisted in the military and trains new recruits for a living. She does assist with military strategies for the royal guard and helps fortify Canterlot’s defenses. But Granite mostly tends to the training facility in Ponyville.

She is a strong, strict mare who doesn’t take any nonsense. Granite tends to be all business, but she is known to go out to the bars and have a good time on occasion. She inherited her stern nature from her mother, Limestone Pie, who often took her out to the field to mine rocks early in the morning. Because she focused so much on physical strength, Granite’s flying abilities are rather lacking. She joined a flight camp when she was little but still struggles to fly well.



Relationships:
Granite Rock has a great relationship with both of her parents, though she tends to favor her mother, Limestone. They are both more strict and enjoy a rigid lifestyle. Although, they sometimes buttheads as Limestone tends to be way too aggressive. When they argue, the whole house shakes. Granite and Zephyr get along pretty well. Sometimes, Zephyr tends to be too slow for Granite’s tastes and whenever she visits, she wakes everyone up at 6am (“The early bird gets the worm, dad!” is often her choice of words when Zephyr protests).

Granite also has a good relationship with her stepmother and stepsiblings. She loves her stepmom, Rainbow Dash. They bonded when Granite was a little foal and enrolled in Dash’s Junior Flight Camp. Rainbow helped Granite out, taught her how to fly, and boosted her confidence. Granite always saw Rainbow Dash as a role model and even assisted in bringing her father and Rainbow together. While Granite isn’t as close to Stormbolt, she has a close friendship with Crosswind. She helped Windy with her confidence issues and always played with her when they were kids. Granite is super supportive of Crosswind’s career as an author and was a shoulder to cry on when Crosswind was dumped by Starswirl.

One of Granite’s best friends is Misty. They met in military training camp and trained together all the time. Granite’s strength and Misty’s magic combined to make a powerful, dangerous duo. They both impressed their superiors and quickly rose through the ranks. Even though Misty is busy with guard duty and Granite is currently occupied with military camp, the two still find time to hangout every now and then.

- Granite Rock prefers to walk everywhere. She never really flies.

- Granite hates sweet foods.

- She has a crush on the pretty bartender, Scarlett Rose. She purposely goes out to the bar with her cadets just to see her. Scarlett flirts with Granite all the time, blissfully unaware of the green pegasus’s feelings.
