Uh oh… something tells me Starlight shouldn't have tried to cast that spell…

Starlight blinked open her eyes. She didn’t know how long she had been on the floor, but it seemed as though she’d been there most of the night. The pink dawn light had started to filter in through the windows at the top of the library. Remembering suddenly what had happened the night before, she quickly got to her hooves and fluffed out her wings… her wings…

Where are they?! she thought, panicked.

Twisting around, she found out, to her dismay, that she was still her plain, old, unicorn self.

The spell didn’t work! she thought angrily.

Wanting to teleport back to her room before Twilight saw her in the library, Starlight powered up her horn in preparation to leave, then stopped.

My horn feels funny… I don’t feel the magic inside…

She reached up to touch her horn, but to her horror, it was gone. Really panicking now, Starlight raced over to a mirror and peered at her reflection and couldn’t hold back a scream of terror.

Not only did she not have wings…

She now had no horn.
