Recently I made a pyrography on an actual cutting board for breakfast. The wood is a lot harder and denser than in case of any of my previous pyrographies. It allows for more detailed work and there are less random scorched spots which can occur if there are irregularities in the consistency of the wood. On the other hand it takes more time to work with this higher quality wood. The texture of the wood (lower right corner in particular) reminded me of waves on a water surface which contributed to the reflection motive I ended up with. This is the outlines only version of the board, but I am going to upload a finished and a colored (digitally only) version soon.
