This one was interesting and fun, because I had to match the lighting to the real lighting effectively baked on to the 3d scan, and needed to use a number of different render layers so the background didn’t have rendered AND scanned shadows in the same region. Because the mesh is a bit janky in a few places, the shadowcatcher pass required some fixing in photoshop. I won’t bore everyone with the details unless someone really wants to know.
In before someone complains about her smoking. :P I’m not endorsing (or saying anything at all) about smoking in general. I just tried to imagine what a character might be doing behind an old building, and it seemed to fit.
Perhaps she has just finished packing up the equipment from last night’s gig, and wants a break before having to haul all of it home. Canterlot is a very old city, so I could see a back alley looking like this.
