Rarijack — In terms of Rarity, not much has changed from my original concept. Rarity had developed feelings for this rocky, wild stallion that didnt stick around for long. She fell unexpectedly pregnant, and decided that she would keep the child — in the hopes that perhaps, he will stick around more, and she could have a family with a loving husband. Upon breaking the news to him, it appeared he was going to stay — but within just a week or two, he was off again, and never returned.
Distraught, Rarity turned to her friends. They of course stepped in to help her in any way she needed.
Rarity eventually realised, the dependent, stable figure she'd been searching for in this oblivious stallion, had been in front of her this whole time — in Applejack. Honest, dependable, and family oriented. The two eventually ended up happily married and kids of their own.
EDIT forgot to put this in when i originally wrote this lol
i have various headcanons of features that earth ponies/unicorns/pegasi have, which i'll have to post about at some point, but essentially…although years have breeding between the three races has meant that these traits are found in all ponies, rarity's family goes back generations of pureblood unicorns, and apple jack goes back with years of pureblood earth ponies. all of their traits are traditional earth pony/unicorn ones. AJ is stocky/buff, hooves (not cloven, more earthy toned), little bit of neckfur and ear fluff, and more toned/earthy pelt. Rarity is slender, FAIRLY tall (not as tall as big buff AJ), with cloven/brightly coloured hooves, long ears,a smooth coat, and brighter colours (and of course the traditional tail and horn).
Heart Stitcher — Daughter of Rarity and an absent stallion
VA — Lucy Montgomery (x)
A total no nonsense girl with an inexplicable cockney accent. A lesbian with absolutely no interest in "nice guys" and "players" and will shoot them down on site — a sweet looking mare, however, is totally up for grabs.
Though AJ acts as her second parental figure, HS is almost inseparable from her mother Rarity. She and her mother are often mistake as sister — which Rarity is flattered by, HS not so much- did she really look that old? better apply a lot of smoky eye to distinguish yourself — either way, HS loves to help her mother out around her shops, and hopes to open her own chain someday. She's a bit protective of her cooky/fabulous/100% independent mother, despite the fact she's helped save Equestria like….a dozen times.
She gets on well with AJ, who is, in her eyes, her only other parental figure (fuck that no good father) — farmwork isn't exactly her strong suit, but she has good memories of helping mama AJ peel apples on summer evenings, or learning the apple family apple mash recipe. Though not her biological daughter, AJ, and the rest of the apple family, still considers her just as much a part of the family as anypony else.
Butterscotch — Daughter of Rarity and Apple Jack
VA — Katie Driver (x) ((moon in that clip))
Butterscotch was AJ's and Rarity's sort of..miracle foal. It took months and months of trying, but finally, Rarity fell pregnant with their "second" child.
When she was born, she almost gave Apple Jack a heart attack — though she tamed it as she grew up, her golden hair was as bright and as curly as Pearbutter's. AJ, full of sentimental, maternal tears, wanted to name her after her mother, and Rarity agreed — and so, Butterscotch was named.
As technically the eldest of the generation of apple family, and with AJ feeling very sentimental and prideful about her mother, she handed down one of many hats to Butter — as a symbolism, of being an apple no matter where her life takes her.
Butter seemed to get the…short end of the stick, in terms of genetics. Rarity's mother is short and lanky, and that's just what Butter got.
Not very strong, she wasnt good for farmwork. and, though she tried her hardest, make up and fashion and anything glamerous was just not possible for her. She was stuck in this middle ground — technically the middle child, technically the eldest, and yet interested in neither of the things her mother's valued… of course, neither of them minded, in fact they were overjoyed their daughter was interested in candy making and was spending lots of time with Auntie Pinkie Pie, — but when Butterscotch watched her younger brother work on the farm, or her elder sister work in the boutique, she couldn't help but feel like the black sheep of the family. It didn't help that her naturally quiet and reserved nature made it easy for her to slip into the background.
Apple Chip — Son of Rarity and Apple Jack
VA — Jason Marsden (x) ((skip to 0:29…ty hap <3)
If there's one thing the apple family is known for, it's their LARGE families, and that's what AJ wanted! Apple Chip is the youngest of the Rarijack branch of the apple family, and an apple through and through. Of the three siblings, Chip is the one who spends most of the time on the farm, working hard with his mama during long harvests and with other laborious jobs.
The big fella has a bit of…charm, about him, that makes him the talk of ponyville. He has quite a few secret admirers across the town, and he can't help but love it just a little bit… maybe sometimes he goes to the town centre, to "sell apples" -shows off his muscles…gives a little show…not too much though! must be modest now.
Chip also has a little bit of a softside — every now and then he'll let heart stitcher or his mama rarity paint his hooves, or will go on spa trips with them, though these are few and far between. He's developed a bit of a drama streak from Rarity, and insists he must maintain his image of the cool, strong, muscley stallion that lives on the outskirts of town…but a spa trip once every few months is irresistible.
