“You’re really digging into those hayburgers, aren’t ya, baby?”
Firefly pressed an ear into Galaxy Guard’s swollen belly, caressing the spot where the baby had just kicked. Rolling her eyes, Galaxy didn’t bother to push her away this time.
“Y’know kid, I don’t blame ya. If I were inside Gal, I’d be hungry for more too. Speaking of-“
”Firefly!” Galaxy lightly kicked her wife. “You know better than that! We’ve already had one child embarrass us in public because of you.”
The changeling chuckled, not taking her words to heart. “Hormones, hormones. They’re gettin’ to ya, Gal. You want another hayburger?”
Galaxy was about to protest through the food in her mouth, but she paused. “…Yes. Yes, I’d like another hayburger.”
Firefly levitated another box of hayburgers over to her wife, and rested her head back on her belly.
“You know how you said I could name this one? After you named our first?”
”Yes. You better come up with a good one. I put a lot of thought and research into choosing Lulu’s name.”
”Yeah, yeah. We should call this one Parasite.”
”Parasite? No! Who the buck names their child Parasite?”
“Think about it, Gal. That baby’s really eating you up inside. Eating your food, eating your energy, and sure as hell eating your sense of humor…like a parasite.”
”You know what?” Galaxy began to scold her. Suddenly, her stomach grumbled loudly.
”…That actually sounds kind of fitting. Parasite it is, then.”
