A sketch I made inspired by derpibooru.org/1609455, which depicted Double Diamond as representing Tajikistan. I wanted Double D to be some Shah of Khwarezm's poor steed, so I made this picture (and then I realised that Samarkand, the setting of this picture, is actually in Uzbekistan!).
The "Shah"'s clothing was based on a certain picture, and the cataphract/knight to the Shah's right riding on Party Favor was based on a certain illustration of a Sassanid cataphract.
