February 14th, a.k.a Valentines Day. That one special day of the year where everypony spends the day with their loved ones. Whether they're a significant other, a relative, or even a friend.

On this day, Iridescence was walking down the streets of Canterlot, on her way to eat breakfast with her friend, Cuppa Joe. Even though it was just breakfast, she was pretty excited. When he invited her out to eat, he also mentioned a surprise, but of course, he wouldn't tell her what it was. She tried to get him to at least give her a hint, but his only response was, "Wait and see Irie, this is a surprise you don't want to be spoiled."

Once she reached her destination, she instantly saw Cuppa Joe among the other ponies out today. He saw her too, smiled, and greeted her with a wave.

"Morning Irie."

"Good morning to you too, Joey. So, mind telling me what this surprise you spoke of yesterday is?"

"You are really eager to know, aren't you?", he asked with a smirk on his face.

"Can't blame me, you were the one being so secretive."

"It's what I do best", he winks at her," Well, lucky for you, I think I see your surprise coming right now."

The waiter approached their table with a serving platter that had two steaming sups on it, one with a red ribbon. He gave one to Joe, and the other to Iridesence.

"Your lattes', monsieur et madame. Your breakfast will be ready in a few minutes." Before he walked off, he gave Cuppa Joe a smirk and a wink, knowing exactly what he was doing. Making sure Iridesence didn't suspect anything, he went to serve another table.

Before Irie took a sip, she noticed something weird with her drink. There wasn't anything wrong in it, but the foam was…….shaped differently.

"Hey Joey, is the foam in your latte heart shaped?"

Keeping the smirk off his face, he responded, trying to keep the excitement out of his voice," No, why'd you ask?"

"Mine is, and what's with the rib-", she cut herself off when she noticed a little notecard on the plate. She picked it up, read it, then a big blush appeared on her face.

Irie,
I like you a latte, wanna go out?

Slowly, she averted her eyes from the notecard to the smirking, and blushing stallion. Then she started to giggle.

"Seriously, of all the pick-up lines to choose, you pick this one?", she said, her giggles turning into laughter, the blush still on her face.

"Oh, come on Irie. You're making fun of me after all the hard work I put into this?", he asked, acting offended.

"It's cute, but to be honest, it's really cheesy too."

"Well, putting cheesiness aside, what do ya say Irie, wanna be my Valentine and go out with me?"

Irie looked at him for a long time, thinking it over. Then a big smile appeared on her face.

"Of course……..I like you a latte too, Joey."
