After they set the egg on a nest of blankets, Novo pointed out where the egg had been damaged in the attack that destroyed the others. She brought it to Celestia and Luna, the most skilled magic users she happened to be friends with, to ensure the baby of their friend was still alive.
So the sisters poured over the egg, taking turns checking for any problem they could think of. Twilight could just watch on in curiosity.
