Eden's gaining of his cutie mark led to a lot of backlash from his parents. Not only had he raised his sister's goldfish from the dead and almost traumatised her, but to find that Necromancy — a looked down upon part of magic at the least — was his calling. Twilight flew into a fury and lectured Eden on Necromancy and how it was to be forbidden in her home. Eden took the tongue lashing but began to resent his parents and any who told him that he and his calling were wrong or evil.
