Hehe, you see, I have this headcannon about Flash that he sometimes is a bit childish and easily gets excited about new things in his life. So when he turned into a seapony he was like "Whoooo! I have fins and they are so glowy! And I can breathe underwater and swim so fast, Woohooooo…!" …and then this happened.

I decided to base my seapony artstyle on pictures by Jaqueline Anderson I found in my "The Art of My Little Pony : The Movie" book. I actually like those designs more than the ones in the movie. They probably didn't make it for the film due to their complexity.
