Sunset in one land is sunrise in another.
While Americans lament the end of their summer and holidays, we Malaysians on the other side of the world celebrate the anniversary of our nation's independence with fireworks and cuisine.
As I previously drew Pinkie Pie as a flower tree girl, here she is with another kind of flower, the hibiscus ("bunga raya" in Malay, which means "grand flower"). I also made her wear a baju kurung to make her look more Malaysian, to fit with the Independence Day celebrations at the last day of August.
