- Gusty is the surprise second born to Bow Hothoof and Windy Whistles.

- After only planning for a single child, Gusty took Bow and Windy by surprise; but, as the supportive parents they are, they quickly became excited for her arrival.

- Gusty took advantage of her parents support, earning herself a slightly spoiled side to her; knowing full well her parents couldnt say no to her.

- Gusty is competitive, like Rainbow, and despite being the younger sister, wants to prove she can beat Rainbow Dash at everything.. Even flying.

- Despite wanting to be the best at everything Rainbow Dash does, Gusty actually finds the Wonderbolts to be.. boring. And instead, in spite of Rainbow Dash, signs up and joined "the Washouts" and befriends Lightning Dust.

- Although she would never admit it, she and Rainbow Dash are practically the same personality wise. But due to that fact, they are constantly butting heads with other.

- Even though its Gusty's goal to one up everything Rainbow does, if Rainbow ever needed help, Gusty was there. And she knew Rainbow would do the same for her. They just wont admit it to each other.

Originally, I was going to give Rainbow Dash a brother.. but after some thought, I figured a little sister with an ego just as high as Rainbow's would make a better story. She has the "Anything you can do, I can do better" mindset.

Her design is influenced by G1 Firefly; whom I headcanon as one of Rainbow Dash's grandmares. (Windy's mom)

Her name, of course, is a namesake to Windy.. With Gusty being like a Jr. name to her own.
