The forward cabin of the old Coltar Transport Sky Busses, a CTSB-30 to be exact. The rear tail section had broken off when the bus had fallen from the sky, on the day the war ended.

The CTSB-30 was a 30 pony passenger sky bus piloted by a single pegasus. The patented 'Coloudensors' located in the lower rubber capped stands help the pilot with this large load.

The C-30 featured six of these Cloudensors, a joint pegasus/unicorn venture in the pre-war days. Each of the Cells under the carriage carried such a device inside, a generator that cast a 'captive' spell contained in a crystal memory matrix. This spell conjured up a cloud within an opaque Cloud-steel cylinder, captivating the lift produced to be transferred into the main carriage. With these six Cloud Skids, the pegasus can easily haul the weight of the cabin and the occupants, only exerting the force to move a large cloud, which is exactly what they are doing. Not hauling the carriage, rather pulling the clouds along with him, the bus is merely attached to them.

All of the cloud lifted skids are controlled by a central matrix unit. Independent front draw-bars have the capability of moving on their own and effecting the path of the vehicle. A pegasus banks right, pushing the right bar down, and lifting the left up, this tells the matrix that the pilot is making a turn, and each of the cloudensors will vary the density and mass of the clouds to assist, and 'tail' the pegasus movements gently.
Even upon emergency landings, the pegasus can 'pull up', and the skids will become dense with thick clouds, struggling to rise into the sky, but merely negate the downward forces and allow a safer landing for the passengers.

Future iterations of the C-30 will include a 'Failsafe', where if upon the pilot becoming unresponsive, the matrix will 'hold' the vehicle steady at its current position, allowing a replacement pilot to be brought in. Until then, a 'co-pilot' is assigned to ride in the transport.

At least, that was what the advertisement said.

She was rough, the fall had damaged the roof near the split and gently twisted the entire cabin at an angle. Calamity looked to the rear section, sitting only a short trot away, and sighed. The tail end contained four out of the needed skids, and would have to be removed and fitted to the front cabin. Then the wiring as well, he'd have to run a new set of lines to the rear, see what all needs to be replaced and re-wired. Some of the interior lights may still work as well, one fixture was complete but it's twin was nearly ripped away to leave only a single socket.

"This is…" A unicorn who's coat was a charcoal broke the pegasus' train of thought and drew an eye toward her., "It's very 'rough'." she continued.

"Ah know. But, ah saw her… and she kinda 'spoke' to me." The pegasus said softly, returning the gaze back to the broken bus. "She's broken now, but ah see a way 'ta fix 'er up. She's still got a bit 'o life in her." he nodded firmly.

The unicorn cautiously stepped inside, testing to see if the old thing was stable. The floor held firm and felt steady underhoof, so she progressed further inside.
"The seats are all…" she gave one a press with her hoof, a black liquid dribbled out the underside to the floor, choking her with a stiff stench of mold. She turned and was about to voice a protest when the pegasus dropped a dusty seat cushion from the still protected rear section.

"Ah know she's a bit… dead now. But ah see her flying through the air once again, ah see transportation and uh' somewhat safe base, bein' places nopony can get ta' without 'er." he stomped a hoof and flared his wings in confidence.

The unicorn mulled it over. It would be a shell once the disgusting mold was removed, but it did feel like a good start.
"Only if I can decorate it." she smiled, having seen the potential.

"Deal!" the pegasus grinned.
