It wasn’t like the magic Twilight felt when she spend the day talking or working or reading with a friend. It wasn’t the gentle warmth that came from making a friend smile, or the giddy light that came from laughing at a good joke. It was none of that, but it was all of it and more, concentrated in electricity on Applejack’s fingertips. Applejack weaved that magic effortlessly, as if she didn’t even know she was doing it. She wrote a spell on Twilight’s skin in invisible ink, and everywhere her fingers touched Twilight could feel their mark.
There was magic in that touch, and Twilight was determined to learn how to wield it herself.
