the newest Rockhoof episode made me . . . really fucking emotional. Spoilers, but I never thought that they'd do a MLP episode where a character was more or less ready to commit suicide. Rockhoof's dilemma of not feeling like he had a place in the world to the point where he thought the best outcome for everyone was being turned to stone hit me on a personal level lol, and reminded me of a lot of my own things I've recovered from.

Having already liked Rockhoof quite a lot, I did that typical pony fan thing where I made (or in this case, rebooted) a character to be his love interest. Fletching is technically one of Charade's disguises, so this is just adding on to her history as a forest Kelpie, and the forms she's taken of deceased ponies for a millennia.

Anywho, title comes from the song "The Parting Glass," and if you've never heard it, I suggest looking it up because it's crazy beautiful. The Peter Hollens cover in particular inspired this piece tbh.

Ended up working on this instead of commissions today because my poor Ugee is dying, and has a loose usb port. It might be the last big piece I upload for awhile if I have to buy a new one ; A ;
