Cutie Mark Crusaders Day 2018 is round the corner and also winter is coming. That last fact means that for a while I will be unable to draw outside with chalk because it is just too cold for that. However, for a while I have been wondering if it could be possible to make much smaller chalk drawings on pieces of slate rather than outdoors. Experiments with regular chalk have let to no satisfactory results, but some liquid chalk pens I got for birthday look promising.
There are some downsides since the number of colors is limited to seven and mixing is not an option without a high risk of permanently messing up the color of a pen.
Therefore I tried out a somewhat more simplistic style for a series of cutie mark crusader chalk paintings on slate. Here is the first one, Apple Bloom.
