I had been to the Notre Dame about a month ago, and I have friends who are visiting, and were planning to go in about an hour after the fire started. Thoughts and prayers to all Parisians tonight. _-uploader

So as you may have heard, the cathedral of Notre-Dame de Paris is currently in flames, and most of the roof and the emblematic arrow from the 19th century have dissapeared.I am shocked and immensely sad. This monument was an emblem of my city and is an architectural prouesse from the 13th century.
This is the first time is gets burned this badly. It had already happened in 1718 and 1772, but this time the fire started on the scaffholdings that were surrounding the cathedral. There were apparently no victims but the firemen are still working hard to put the fire down (and failing for now because they can't access the inflamed area).
This was done reeeeally quickly so it's bad, I just wanted to express my sadness when I heard the news.
