I was lucky enough to receive my favorite crusader for whiteheather's 2014 Charity Quilt Project! For my part, it was quite an experience—I've never appliqued anything before, and I've never worked with cottons either, so the whole project was quite the learning experience. I can't wait to see the final product!

I realize that this particular image does not include her trademark pink bow, but I decided that this design was much more symbolically indicative of her overall character. For me, the inclusion of her big sister's hat serves the dual purpose of illustrating the longing she feels to be more grown up as well as the strong familial bonds she shares with her family, which, to me, are two of her most defining traits.

Naturally, I see things that could have been done better, but overall I'm pleased. :D
