I've been meaning to redesign Torch's father and I'm satisfied with this. He still becomes a shriveled mess as he gets old, don't worry.
Torch may have outwardly appeared confident at all times, but when Ember was little and needed to be disciplined he couldn't help but fear he'd become too much like his parents. In truth he never came close. He just felt awful making her sad, no matter how naughty she was.
