A followup to my commission from mustlovefrogs' Pyrrhic Victory. After Harmony Blitz manages to escape from her inter dimensional cousin's grasp (Casscade Duet) she is taken home by Aria where the older siren proceeds to bandage her injured offspring, and scold her for her poor performance.

"-and next time Duet bites you, PUNCH HER BACK! I knew you can!" Aria scolded her offspring while wrapping linen over her injured head.

Harmony sniffled wiping her tears away, but a fresh set came out as soon as her eyes were clear.

"I don't want to. Mom and Princess Twilight say that's not how to make friends or others like you. I want Duet to like me," Harmony said sadly looking down at her hooves.

Harmony sniffled trying to hold back tears, but the scolding and harsh tone from her mother always invokes strong emotional responses from the little siren pone. Though she knows it's a sign of weakness, something her mother Aria does every time she sheds even a tear, Harmony can't help but feel trapped by obligation to do as her mother heeds. It's what a good child does, right? Yet, at every turn her second mother, Trixie, always tells her its good to cry once in a while. Just as long as Aria isn't around.

Aria huffed wiping Harmony's eyes. "While that's all fine and dandy, you need to be ready in case you decide to live like a siren," Aria stated proudly. "If you put as much effort into mastering our hunting and combat skills as you do your singing and fashion crap you'd be better prepared for bigger dangers than Duet."

Aria seeing the tears streaming down her daughters face, tightens the linen bandages tighter with a short snarl. The snarl was enough to send a cold fearful shiver down Harmony's spine as her mane and fur stood on end.

"Stop crying, I didn't raise you to be such a damn pansy," Aria scolded Harmony. "One day you will face stronger obstacles than your cousin and you need to be ready to face it-

"I don't wanna." Harmony whispered.

"-face it like-"

"I DON'T wanna." Harmony repeated louder.

"-like a siren."

"I DON'T WANNA BE A SIREN! I WANNA BE A PONY LIKE MOM!"

Harmony's words rang throughout the household, amplified by her own siren powers that shook the foundation and the very timbers of the house. Aria too was shaken, not from the power of her daughters voice, but by the power of her words. For the first time in a long time, Aria Blaze was speechless.
