The world was quiet, save for the soft whistle of wind.

Older now, they walked together across the barren land. There was nothing left.

It hurt to breathe. The air was black and held the stench of death. Tempest looked at her partner, her life, her best friend- how could it have gotten to this point? How had it not been fixed with the ever so powerful elements of harmony?

Twilight didn't speak. For once, there was nothing to be said, nothing to do, nothing there. She'd had this look in her eyes before. Many times before, really- she'd started to lose hope. But the color in her mane still held its strong shine. There had to be something left in Twilight. Otherwise she'd be gone too.

And where was everyone? Gone too, probably- neither of them knew at that point. There was hurt in both of their eyes, and yet their eyes were both empty. Empty like the world that stood before them. There was nothing left.

Well, correction- there was something left- a wasteland.

This started off as an AU drawing, but I think I'll add it to my verse. I dunno, we'll see :') Haven't drawn Tempest and Twi in a while! I never seem to get Twilight right, but oh well ;-; Anyway, hope you enjoy this and the messy clump of writing!
