Day One: Favorite Pony Character
Dammit, flowers are a pain in the ass to draw.
Yes, I know it's another 30-day challenge, but I'm planning on actually finishing this one.
I'm also going for a bit of a theme: flowers and symbolism. Basically, each piece is going to involve flowers that have certain meanings that I see fit for each character.
A rundown of each of the flowers, their meanings, and why I chose them:
Crocus — Youthful Happiness; starting off simple with this first choice. Pretty much pertaining to how he found happiness during his youth
White clovers — Think of Me; both a biased choice on my behalf (because let's face it, this precious bean is on my mind 24/7) and a connection to the lyric, "and all did know my name" from "Cheese Confesses"
Lavender — Devotion; He's been a traveling party pony since he was inspired by Pinkie at the age of what? 5-13-ish?? Tell me that's not devotion.
Daisies — Innocence; biased choice, but let's face it, he's baby.
Anemone — Fragility; somewhat referencing his past. It would probably be a sensitive topic, depending on how you see it.
Purple Hyacinth — Regret, Forgiveness; a connection to "Pinkie Pride" because as I was rewatching it yesterday (again), I kept replaying Cheese's dialogue that came right before his confession and dang, that along with his confession is probably one of my favorite parts of the ep. The voice acting is perfect, and with the animation, he looks and sounds genuinely sorry. He felt extremely bad for accidentally making Pinkie feel like she was being replaced, and his apology led to my absolute favorite song of the series.
Yes, I'm gushing over a 7 second-ish long scene about an accordion-playing orange horse feeling sorry, what's it to ya?
