Bio:
River Rock is the unmistakable son of Mage Meadowbrook and Rockhoof, two of the legendary Pillars of Equestria. After finally finding his footing in this strange new world, the towering stallion fell hard and fast for the little medicine mare. It was only a few years later in which they had a son, and although most of the Pillars of Equestria pass away, his parents included, when he's only thirteen, River Rock is a sturdy and wise stallion that has ensured their memories are cemented in Equestria's history. However, after the fact, he was seen walking into Whitetail Woods and from there, very few ponies heard from him for quite some time. A few close family friends were made aware of his whereabouts (namely Stygian and Double Diamond) until his name suddenly popped up again in public conversation. As it turned out, he had become an incredibly adept and watchful park ranger, helping to keep the forest safe. River Rock is quite passionate about nature and the world around him. Like his father before him, he is quite enthusiastic when he is guiding a hiking or whitewater rafting tours of Whitetail Woods and the Smoky Mountains. Ponies from all over Equestria come to see the absolute beauty of the forest and mountains, and River is more than happy to illustrate such. He is incredibly knowledgeable about wilderness survival and how the range formed millions of years ago during the Ponyocene period. Because of this, he has crossed paths with fellow rock-lover Sandstone Pie, and the two eventually become close friends. Sandy often likes to invite her friends to join her on River's hikes or rafting adventures. Totally not an excuse to hang out, and River is totally not delighted over such.



Diamond

Bio: Diamond is one interesting, rather mysterious colt. This fellow was found as an extremely young foal by Captain of the Royal Guard, Tempest Berrytwist. While out on patrol outside Trottingham, Tempest came across a cabin billowing with fire and smoke, with a tiny toddler lying on the ground outside with terrible burns. Tempest is horrified and believes the foal to be dead, but upon approach, she sees him take the tiniest, wheeziest breath. Tempest rushes him to the hospital, and they're luckily able to save the foal, but are sadly unable to do much about the scarring along his face, neck and leg. The colt, dubbed "Diamond" by Tempest, grows up in an orphanage in Trottingham with other abandoned foals. The orphanage is quite a nice institution, but the poor fellow is always passed up for adoption. That is, until the pony who's been keeping an eye on him for the past thirteen years approaches him with her (rather strange) husband Scorpan and asks him how he would like to live with them. And, thus, Diamond has lived with his adopted parents in Canterlot to this day. He is very quiet and keeps to himself a good majority of the time. He wears a hood and sleeves when he's out of either his home or the mine, not wanting to be judged for his scars. Diamond feels most comfortable when he's working in Canterlot's premiere diamond and sapphire mine. He's quite admired by his colleagues for his ability to find the largest, clearest gems without the use of magic. Diamond merely looks for the telltale signs of a large gem deposit, and is very detail-oriented, which is quite useful when searching for the next big load. One of his personal finds even sits in Princess Cadence's anniversary pendant. However, when he travels to Ponyville to source out their newly-opened emerald mine and discovers a menagerie of friends (whether he asks for them or not!) He especially catches the cloudy eye of a certain blue farm mare, and the two quickly become fast friends.



Seasmoke

"Darkness of the night comes over me…thorns of the roses penetrate me…red roses, red as…red as…hmmm….."

Special Talents: Florist, writing dark poetry, standing in corners looking grumpy

Bio:
Seasmoke is the adopted son of one of Equestria's more interesting couples: Yona the yak, and Sandbar the earth pony. After a few years of marriage and teaching at Twilight Sparkle's School of Friendship, the two began longing for a foal of their own. During a trip to Mount Aris to visit the hippogriffs, Silverstream and Skystar introduce them to one of their older orphans: paraplegic Seasmoke. The moment he approached them shyly, the little wheels on his chair squeaking slightly, Yona excitedly proclaimed that he was perfect and asked if the little fella wanted to come home with her. After some obviously deep thought, he quietly accepts. At age fifteen, he is whisked away to the quiet countryside village of Ponyville, and thus, becomes a permanent (albeit introverted) member of the gang. At times, it can be difficult to nigh impossible to read the mysterious and stoic hippogriff. He usually wears a deadpan, stony expression and speaks in a quiet, impassive drawl. However, if one is willing to stick around long enough to get used to his grumpy demeanor, Seasmoke is actually quite an interesting character. Though he has no cutie mark like his pony companions, he has a deep, lifelong adoration and passion for floral arrangements and flowers themselves. He works diligently in Roseluck's local florists shop (although a certain pink party pony has tried to recruit him for her business more than once) creating stunning and splendid wreaths, centerpieces, corsages, you name it. Once he feels comfortable enough with a certain creature, he talk on and on about flowers and the meanings behind them, how each arrangement he creates tells a different story. He also quite enjoys incorporating those stories into claw-written poems. However, it might be best if one ignores the fact he utilizes a wheelchair altogether.

The boys are finally in town!

From here, we've only got two more bios to wrap up the characters involved in the Athenaverse. I've been very excited to introduce these dudes. Its preeeeeetttyyyy obvious in MLP: FiM that we get a plethora more of female characters (though it started to get a tad more even towards the final few seasons) so I tried to keep an even, or somewhat even number of male/female characters to work with. I've really enjoyed developing these fellas into individual characters, as these three are arguably some of the harder fellas to get right.

Next chapter for Rare Kind of Happy is coming along (slowly but surely) and I'm planning on getting all trades/commissions finished before November. Will post journal soon. Love y'all!
