I've always loved Caravaggio's paintings, the way he treats light and the level of realism he puts into his painting fascinates me. Recently I've been studying his paintings at school, and it inspired me to recreate one of his most famous paintings, Narcissus (1597-1599).
Of course I chose Pinkie as the subject because she stares into her reflexion in the Mirror Pool episode. Tough it's not in the same context (Pinkie isn't in love with her own reflexion, or at least I don't think so "), it was the closest I could get to an MLP/Caravaggio crossover.
