Ikn the home near Ponyville center lives two friends. A mint-green unicorn and a cream-colored earthpony. And in the interior of the house there is one unusual detail.
On the wall of the living room hangs a portrait of one of the housewives, but it is not made in paints. The image of Lyra Hartstrings is composed of thin luminous lines.
One day, the unicorn got to the market, as usual, to buy products. As Lyra wandered through the stalls, she noticed something wrong and out of place.
Looking closely, the pony could not believe her eyes. He sat quietly in the row. One of the very creatures Lyra had wanted to meet all her life now was just sitting there selling extraordinary landscapes that looked like they were made of light.
The unicorn had been hanging around all day, but had not dared to come and talk. She was both curious and terrified.
Lyra could not bring herself to approach him until the merchant had gathered himself and left. The unicorn followed him to the edge of the Park. There he pitched a small tent and sat down beside it.
And then something happened that Lyra herself hardly believes.
He waved to her and asked her to come over. A conversation suddenly broke out easily, carrying them both away with its swift and powerful current. The traveler told Lyra what he was doing, where he had been, and where he going. About their native land and the way he says flatly refused. He just shook his head with a sad smile.
Pony came to her senses only when the East began to turn pink with the dawn glow. Lyra found herself lying on the wanderer's lap, while he fingered her mane, looking up at the fading stars and saying something about a "Voyager".
The unicorn rose, embarrassed, and said good-bye to the wandering artist. He looked a little uncomfortable, too. Wishing her good luck, he climbed into the tent and, apparently, fell asleep.
For a couple of days the wanderer was in and out of Ponyville. Finally, he went on, in his words, in the direction of the Crystal Empire via Canterlot and Manhattan.
Lyra was in a mixture of emotions and a strange prostration. Before her passed the dream of her life, to which she only touched the tip of a hoof, although she could have embraced much more fully.
It is not known what would have led to such reflections, if a couple of days after the departure of the master, the unicorn did not receive a parcel with an amazing portrait. "An enthusiastic young unicorn with a warm heart and a silken mane. Don't lose the fire in your eyes." the attached card read.
