Here are some of my headcanon notes for the most bestest princess:

Twilight does take over the country of Equestria whilst Celestia takes reign over another, obscure, strange continent yet to be fully discovered. However, this doesn't transpire until Twilight is almost 300 years of age.
Twilight is mated with Sombra. She was lucky enough to find, and keep love that will live as long as she does. Alicorns are gifted with extraordinary long life, said to be up to 10,000 years. Sombra is part of the Umbrum species, and is able to live for almost just as long. However, Sombra has already lived roughly 5,000 years. There's no telling how much longer he would live, as being half Umbrum and half pony is uncharted territory.
Twilight does start to grow once she is transformed into an alicorn. However, she never reaches the height of Celestia, since she wasn't born an alicorn. She grows to be roughly the height of Luna, if not a tad taller. Her magic does pronounce itself through her hair and cutiemark, but more so like a breath of wind slowly waving her hair along.
Twilight, after Dia is born, does give her school away to Starlight Glimmer, both as a gift to a friend, and a last lesson to be learned.
Twilight doesn't take over the sun within their solar system, but rather star movement and constellations. She also helps the flow of magic.
