"Damon, come on. I don't even look like her anymore."
"Eh, you do a little."

On the left: Cassie as an adult. She's got her very own signature look now. She often curls her hair, but it's naturally straight. In her own eyes, she honestly doesn't even look much like Twilight at all- they have different manes and coats and don't even share the same color eye. To the public, though, they're practically identical, same as Flurry Heart and Cadence are. Maybe it's because Twilight and Cassie have an identical body build, and they're the only two alicorns in the area. Ponies get confused
On the right: Cassie's primary look from childhood to her early teens. She became conscious of her identity and didn't really want to be associated so much with Momma Twi. After all, Tempest was just about the coolest mom anyone could ever ask for, and if she was to be compared to someone, why couldn't it just be Tempest? The first few times she was mistaken for Twilight, she was genuinely confused. Now she just gets frustrated. Can't ponies tell their princesses apart?
- Twilight actually wasn't too big on forcing her kid to have bangs, but her mom kinda heavily encouraged it. According to Velvet Sparkle, bangs are a serious family tradition with deep ancestral meaning. Probably something she made up to get her granddaughter to look just a lil bit like her.
- Cassie curses Celestia every day for giving her bright princess-y colors, as if Celestia had any say in it. Ponies seem to turn to the sun queen when they're feeling any sort of emotion- rejoice, deep anger, or hatred- even if it's not related to Tia in the slightest. Cas just wishes she looked more like Tempest. But if she did look like Tempest, she'd probably curse Celestia for not giving her a princess look. You can't win with her
- Cassie gets a break when the fam goes to the Crystal Empire. She's mistaken as Cadence herself all the time, which she doesn't mind in the slightest. Cadence is her absolute favorite aunt and it's honestly an honor.
- One may ask why she doesn't want to look like Twilight, and why she has such a deep obsession with maintaining her own individual image. It's not that she had a bad relationship with Twilight, but her mom wasn't really a mom. Twilight almost saw her daughter as a project- something you can shape and work on. She almost treated her like a student. They didn't have a deep connection, not like the one Cassie shares with Tempest. Twilight tried her best though.
- Damon used to tease her about how similar she and her mom were all the time… until they sat down and had a conversation about it. It's not something Cassie appreciates, and Damon doesn't push her about it anymore
