"Go on Sleepy, I'll just be riiight over here!"
—
When Sleeping Spell was born, Twilight was practically ecstatic over the fact that she was the mother of an alicorn by birth. She expected a little terror, much like Flurry Heart was when she was born. Much to both Twilight and Sunburst's surprise however, little Sleeping Spell wasn't a very difficult child at all. He was even less difficult than a normal pegasus or unicorn foal. He didn't try and fly much, rather seemed afraid of his own wings. He didn't make any attempts to use his magic for mischief, and when he did use his magic the poor thing shook like a leaf in fear.
Of course, being the worry wart she was, Twilight immediately assumed something was wrong with her colt. She studied him and fretted over him but eventually determined that Sleeping Spell was just… Anxious and shy. He was fully capable of flying and magic.
Instead of letting it go, Twilight figured she'd encourage playdates with his cousin as often as possible. Flurry Heart was naturally mischievous and Twilight thought that maybe she'd be able to help build Sleeping Spell's confidence.
