This is one of several large commissions I am working on or am in the middle of finishing. This one is a 15" x 22" picture done in colored pencil, marker pen, technical pen, and at the end some white gouache paint. The working surface is Strathmore 500 Series Vellum Bristol Board.

I am particularly happy with how the moonlit clouds came out. I put a lot of thought into how I was going to do them, and I tried some new techniques which got me the results I was looking for. I'm hoping the technique will also work during daylight pictures. It's not faster, but it gives much more satisfying results than older techniques have.

I'm also happy that I was able to incorporate Nightmare Moon/Luna's cutie mark into the actual moon.
