I subscribe heavily to Evehly's headcanon that Umbrum are an ancient species of unicorn corrupted by dark magic, so these guys follow just that!

Characters from left to right:

Dr. Shuck Mortis
- The royal mortician for King Sombra and Queen Luna; resides in the Nullum Lux Empire
- A necromancer and talented black magician. Responsible for turning 'the damned' into ghouls that're utilized by the upper class as servants
- Has an undead feline familiar named Styx
- Older brother of Esmerelda
- Horn is encased in amethyst

Esmerelda
- Younger sister of Shuck
- A chef and a damn good one at that. She specializes in meat related dishes. However, Esmerelda is also a cannibal and many of her dishes contain the meat of the poor unfortunate souls she happened across. Many of which are often travelers
- Smooth and seductive, a temptress who can become highly obsessive over particular ponies to the point it's creepy. Most of her victims of stalking and obsession are never seen again for one reason or another
- Her horn is encased in emerald

Blood Diamond
- Once a warrior, she's since retired from her position on the frontline. Now a day she works to train the new soldiers in the Nullum Lux Empire's army. She's ruthless, merciless, and unforgiving. She is not your friend, she is not your mommy, she is Commander Blood Diamond and she's going to break Every. Bone. In your body
- Despite her ruthless nature, it takes quite a bit to actually piss her off. An angry soldier fights blind after all
- Horn is encased in a bloody red colored diamond

Penumbra
- Unshown; has crystalline growths on his shoulder blades
- Fiercely intelligent, he works as a historian and can often be found in the library of the Empire. In his days of young, he used to work as a high priest within the Empires towering black cathedral Lunam Tenebris
- Level headed, calm, and reserved, Penumbra doesn't speak often unless directly spoken to. He's often called the ghost of the kingdom as his presence can be felt, but many wont know he's in the room with them until he says something
- Horn is encased in sapphire
- Multilingual, he can speak many languages with fluent ease
