I could finally finish and post this! :D I actually started drawing it before I drew the contest prizes, but had to pause it for a while. I know myself, and know that if I let myself start doing something else, I'd never get around to finishing the prizes. So I forbade myself from posting anything else until they were done… which they now are, and I could finally finish the backgrounds on this one and post it :) … And it's not the only one I have half-finished, I tend to work on several drawings at the same time, and only finish like half of them ;


It's quite a simple drawing admittedly, but I just wanted to draw Pipsqueak interacting with his kids some. His work (he's a sailor) often keeps him away from his family for long streches of time, so he tries to make up for that by taking the twins out for adventures and trips whenever he's home. He knows that Mari loves the idea of flying, and decided to rent a Self-steering Pre-pathed Hot Air Balloon for the day. (Basically, a balloon which is enchanted to steer itself to follow an exact path every time, meaning you don't need a license to fly it.)

…He really should have expected that a sedate flight close to the ground really isn't what Mari had in mind when she thinks of flying. Cameo seems to like it though.


Oh, and Mari and Cameo isn't exceptionally tall (well, Cameo is above average height, but that's… not the point here), in my nextgen 'verse I headcanon that Pipsqueak has a pony version of dwarfism, due to how small he is compared to the other foals.
