Bad End AU:Idols as i said here, i never liked the whole Canterlot High and the mane 6 as high school students very much qvq, if you do, that's great! But personally i decided to change it. Remember these are not canon and are just my interpretation!

1) After going through the mirror, Sunset found herself in another Equestria, one without any kind of magic. She honestly didn't knew what to do…and then Celestia (or Tia) found her. She adopted her as her daughter, and Sunset went to live with Celestia and Luna, president and dean of Canterlot
college. After some years of highschool and college, Sunset understood what was the "magic" she could use in this world: manipulation. She also found out…she didn't actually existed in this world.

2) The elements! They knew each other in elementary school, but distanced as time went by. Now that they study in the same college they see each other every one in a while in campus, but never past a hello, until a foreign student reunites them. (thanks to everybody who helped me figure what majors would they study!)

AJ: major in agriculture, minor in business analysis, works half time at her family farm.
RD:major in physiology with a minor in sports science. works half time as a personal trainer.
Rarity: major in fashion design, minor in crime and justice. Works half time in a boutique.
Fluttershy:major in veterinary sciences, minor in creative writing. Works half time at an animal shelter.
Pinkie: major in directing and stage management, minor in culinary arts. Works half time at a bakery.

3) After Sunset steals the element of magic (here she only steals the element, not the whole crown), Twi goes into the mirror, finding herself and Spike turned into…whatever these creatures are called. Now it's just a race against time against the clock before Sunset uses the element in the most expected party of the campus.
