Backstory: Although Cheesy had a fair childhood, there were moments that Cheesy didn't like: the fact that he was the grandson of a villain, and he had mild asthma (To which many other ponies had nicknamed him "Cheesy Weezy"). However, the only way for him to cope with life was dark humor, internet memes, and gaming, which what led him to decide his destiny. By the time he was a preteen, he began expressing himself through those things on the Internet, which led him to his fame and heart-throb status. He was famous for the "brain bleach" meme which explains why his cutie mark includes it. He first started off as a duo with another internet star named Mac, who was also Cheesy's boyfriend, but due to some conflict and controversy, they broke up, and Cheesy was on his own.

During his time as an internet star all alone, he met Destiny Blood, who was a fan of his. They began dating, but Destiny broke up with him after discovering that Cheesy was the grandson of Spring Cheese during her research of the mysterious elements called "The Special Gems." In response to his breakup with Destiny, Cheesy turned to his dark side, the Edgelord, not only to get revenge on Destiny, but to also go against his grandfather's wishes, but he turned back to normal after Destiny and her friends formed a group called The Squad and used the Special Gems against him. Despite the misunderstandings about this situation, Cheesy and Destiny were separated.

Since the incident, Cheesy had been hiding himself from the public due to fear that he would get harassed by his haters and former fans, but he still was in love with Destiny. Upon hearing the news that his ex-girlfriend got together with her childhood friend Magic Muse, Cheesy decided to come out of hiding and confront Muse over this matter, which resulted in a rivalry between the two stallions, and Destiny feeling conflicted. However, even Destiny knows that, deep inside, they will get along one day.

Sometime after Cheesy became the Edgelord, he was alerted at the fact that the Special Gems had disappeared. Assuming that they were stolen, Cheesy notified the Squad about it, and knowing about the Special Gems' history, they were able to find it at Spring Cheese's garden, where the gems themselves were able to restore the garden to its previous, beautiful state, and not Spring Cheese. Although Cheesy and Spring still have a conflicting relationship, this did restore Cheesy and Destiny's friendship.

Suddenly, Cheesy discovered that an internet idol of his had passed away. He didn't believe it it would happen at first due to awareness, but it was confirmed that there were some complications. A few days after Cheesy's grief, he wears a wristband he got when he met his idol in his honor.

While his life as an internet star is his top priority, there's nothing that keeps Cheesy happy more than Destiny, and even though they're friends now, he hopes that one day, he and Destiny will end up together again.
